Under-20 National Team Finds It Difficult To Score, Beats Canada
UNDER-20 NATIONAL TEAM

The Czech Under-20 national team traveled overseas to play four tough games in just six days. Led by coaches Miroslav Přerost and Jiří Juřík, the Czechs, however, struggled. In the opening game, they were shut out by Team Russia, losing by the score of 5-0. Just one day later, Canada “Red” beat them 6-2. After two days off, the Czechs managed to wake up and get a win against Canada “White”, 5-2. Following was a trip to Lake Placid, N. Y., where the Czechs faced USA, and offensive struggles were back again. The Americans would end up winning, 3-0.
While most of the team had troubles producing points, the trio of Patrik Zdráhal, David Pastrňák and Jan Mandát had no problem at that, combining for ten points, more than half of team’s production. Also scoring goals were the top Czech draft pick at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft Jakub Vrána and fellow prospects David Kämpf and Tomáš Dvořák.
